Did you know most frozen yoghurts are really just yoghurt mixed into a conventional ice cream base? Not quite health food, isn’t it?
Enter my recipe for frozen yoghurt, which uses mainly yoghurt with just a little honey to sweeten it.
It’s just three ingredients.
Mix everything together and churn. Done.
2 cups your favourite yoghurt
2 cups Greek yoghurt
1/2 cup honey
Step 1: Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. Taste the mix for sweetness. Add more honey if you want your frozen yoghurt to be less sour.
Step 2: Churn in your ice cream machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 3: Decant your freshly churned frozen yoghurt into an air-tight container, then chill it in your freezer for a couple of hours to firm up before serving.
You will love this frozen yoghurt if you’re a fan how plain yoghurt tastes. Admittedly, this frozen yoghurt is never going to be as smooth and creamy as the ones made like ice cream. It’s a little grittier and icier because of the higher water and lower fat content, but I think that gives it an interesting texture.
